In wanting to make sure Love That is the best blog we can create on our site, I am going to the Problogger Training Event in August to meet and listen to some of the most successful bloggers and to learn what they see as being the key success factors for their blog’s success. I know I will be asked about Love That so I was reflecting on why and how we launched it, who we have had contribute to it, what the data has shown us to be the most successful posts, and why it is so important to our business.
In launching Love That, I wanted to share more about both me personally and my business. I wanted people to understand what it takes to start a business from scratch, why we decided to add a blog to what was initially a shopping site, and some of the trials of being a working mum trying to keep all the balls in the air. It was important to me that you could learn a little bit more about me as well as what we offer on Set That. I wanted you to feel more engaged with us as a business trying to make online shopping easier for you because we know how busy life can be and we want to do our little bit to help ease that pressure.
I decided early on that we needed to have other people contribute posts to the blog who are far more stylish than me! That is why I am corralled in the Surprise Me category! We wanted experienced stylists and other bloggers to provide advice on Fashion, Beauty, Home and Kids to show us how we can put looks together or choose products that will work with what we already have in our wardrobes or in our home. Some of our contributing writers, like Carla and Leena, have their own blogs, and are looking to reach a broader audience to build their personal brand. Others just have fantastic style, like Maria, Penny and Kirsty, that they are happy to share with others and I am encouraging them regularly to get started on their own blog!
Through the blog, our business has received some really great insights into what you like, what you want more of and what has not quite hit the mark. We have found that the Fashion category on the blog is the one that appeals most to our readers, followed by Home, Beauty and Kids in that order. Based on this feedback, we have decided to focus more on those categories for the products we display as well as future blog posts.
Some of the most popular fashion posts, that are still relevant today, have been Metallic Touches, Sports Luxe, Fashion Staple 101: Denim Jacket, and Blingtastic Statement Necklaces. One of the surprise popular posts in Beauty was Choosing the Best Nail Polish Colours based on your personality! Who would have guessed that one?
So thanks to you, our Love That readers, we learn more about what you want to see and how we can provide more valuable posts, products, sets and curated collections to make your shopping easier. Please feel free to email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org as I love to hear your feedback.
