There is a term in the fashion and beauty world called Bohemian Chic, which basically means a sophisticated hippie look. While Bohemian Chic does have a unique factor, the trend is more often styled to be more classy, and with less of a focus on bright colours (which I happen to love). So I have coined a new term, Bohemian Gypsy. This term is all about the colourful hippie. You get the same bohemian vibe with this look, but you get it in a more brilliant and vibrant way. Here is a more detailed explanation of how to create a Bohemian Gypsy look.
To create a Bohemian Gypsy look, you want to find eye makeup that is bright and fun. Hues that are blue, yellow, green or purple would be great. You can even combine two or more of them to create a fun rainbow-esque look. Be sure to blend well, and don’t overdo it. We are going for fun, not scary! A pop of colour, not a circus clown! You can find some awesome colourful eye shadows by Urban Decay that would work great for creating a Bohemian Gypsy eye makeup look.
Once you have your bright eyes ready, you want to make sure that the rest of your makeup is more neutral, to balance out the look. Instead of using blush, go with a shimmery bronzer instead. Something like Bronze Goddess by Estee Lauder, that adds just a hint of warmth but stays natural looking would work well. Be sure to also stay more natural with the lip colour. Choose a shade that closely matches your natural lips, so you are merely enhancing what you already have. This will not only bring out your natural colouring, it will make those bright, colourful Bohemian Gypsy eyes of yours pop even more!
To top off your look, you want to give your hair the same hippie vibe as your makeup. There are two ways to do this. One is to use a flat iron and straighten your hair. You want to keep it simple, since your focus on this look is going to be your eyes. If you don’t like the straight hair look, or if your hair is thick and curly and straightening it is no fun, then you can go for a loose waves look. If your hair is naturally wavy/curly, simply let it air dry and run some argan oil through it. I recently discovered argan oil and it works wonders on my locks! It helps to reduce frizz and it gives your hair a silky, shiny feeling. Use it regardless of which hairstyle you choose.
Add one last bohemian element with a piece of head jewelry, and you are one colourful, bohemian beauty.
